ECS Celebrates 40 Years of Leadership in the Electrical Supply Industry
Electrical Cable Supply (ECS), a leader in wire and cable distribution, is proud to commemorate its 40th anniversary. Since its founding in 1984, ECS has grown from humble beginnings into Canada’s largest independently owned wire and cable distributor, serving contractors of all sizes across North America and beyond.
ECS’s journey began with Mohammad H. Mohseni, an engineer and entrepreneur who immigrated to Canada in 1981. Recognizing an underserved market, he started ECS as a small distributor catering to smaller contractors. With a vision to provide tailored solutions and a commitment to reliability, ECS quickly distinguished itself in the industry.
Over the years, ECS has expanded its footprint, establishing branches in major Canadian cities, including Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Halifax, and Montreal, and extending its reach internationally with distribution centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar. Today, ECS employs over 200 people globally and generates $250 million in revenue annually.
Reflecting on this milestone, founder Mohammad H. Mohseni said, “If you take care of your people – whether it’s your customers or your warehouse staff – you’re building something that lasts. It’s about respect, trust, and delivering on promises.” This philosophy continues to drive ECS’s success, fostering a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Looking to the future, ECS remains focused on expanding its product offerings, embracing emerging technologies, and strengthening its commitment to exceptional service. By investing in its people and adapting to the evolving needs of the industry, ECS is poised to continue “Connecting People, Powering Success” for years to come.
