This past June, ECS Electrical Cable Supply headed to Calgary for the 2026 Global Energy Show at the BMO Centre and we brought a booth built for people who want to do more than just look. To everyone who stopped by Booth #628 to talk shop, thank you. Here's a look at what we brought, and why a hands-on approach to wire and cable matters more than ever.

A Hands-On Cable Experience

This year, we traded PDFs for something better: cable you could actually pick up. Our booth featured a full reel rack stocked with a cross-section of the cable products ECS supplies every day to contractors, OEMs, and energy producers across Canada and beyond.

Alongside the reel rack, we set up a magnetic sample board; a touch-and-feel display showcasing six cable types chosen for their direct relevance to today's energy projects:

Attendees brought their spec sheets, their toughest questions, and plenty of curiosity comparing jacket materials and conductor constructions side by side. Our team was on the floor throughout the show to talk through applications, alternatives, lead times, and whatever else visitors wanted to dig into.

Why It Mattered

The 2026 Global Energy Show was one of the largest energy events in North America, drawing more than 38,000 attendees and over 500 exhibitors from 100-plus countries across oil and gas, renewables, power generation, and the broader electrification supply chain.
